Finding a quality mental health provider can be very stressful. We recognize that clients are often fearful to enter services, worry about the cost and have limited access to quality therapists. At TCC, from your very first contact to inquire about entering into a therapeutic relationship with licensed staff, The Counseling Connection works to meet the needs of clients with flexible scheduling and compassionate care. We strive to tailor a treatment plan that is unique for you!

No single person's reasons for therapy are the same as another.

Just a few of our many services with links to helpful informational reads.

Depression/Grief/Anxiety

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed.

Anxiety is the mind and body's reaction to stressful, dangerous, or unfamiliar situations. It's the sense of uneasiness, distress, or dread you feel before a significant event

Individual Therapy

Individual counseling (sometimes called psychotherapy, talk therapy, or treatment) is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a licensed therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

Substance Abuse Evaluations

What to expect at a substance abuse evaluation?

During the evaluation the individual will be asked to participate in several assessment activities. These include: Completing a standardized questionnaire regarding your drug or alcohol use, health history, prior addiction treatment history, mental health history, current symptoms, and the effects the substance abuse has had on one’s life.

Anger Management

Anger management is a psycho-therapeutic program for anger prevention and control. It has been described as deploying anger successfully. Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked or thwarted from something the subject feels is important. Anger can also be a defensive response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness.

Grief/PTSD

Grief counseling is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help people cope with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive responses to loss.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental and behavioral disorder that can develop because of exposure to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, warfare, traffic collisions, child abuse, domestic violence or other threats on a person's life. Symptoms may include disturbing thoughts, feelings, or dreams related to the events, mental or physical distress to trauma-related cues, attempts to avoid trauma-related cues, alterations in the way a person thinks and feels, and an increase in the fight-or-flight response.

Play Therapy/Children's

Services

Play therapy is the most developmentally appropriate method of counseling for children. In play therapy children can express what is troubling them through play when they do not have the verbal language to express their thoughts and feelings. As children mature, traditional talk therapy may be combined with play, expressive arts, or sand tray.
